Student Support and Involvement

We the SIL2010 congress organizers are committed to involve as many as possible students in this the first SIL congress on the African continent.

Pre-graduate students may apply as volunteers to help run the congress as smoothly and efficient as possible. Volunteers will have access to the exhibition area and all lectures if they are not busy with some task. Application to become a volunteer is made to the organizers as indicated below.

Graduate students without a Ph.D. may apply for congress attendance support, which will at most cover registration and accommodation fees. Application for such support must be accompanied with proof of student status (declaration from the supervisor/study leader), and needs. Only applications where the student will present either an oral paper or poster will be considered. Students from developing countries, especially from Africa will receive preference.

Send applications for support to:

Prof. Johan Grobbelaar, LOC Chair
grobbeju@ufs.ac.za

1. Personal details and affiliation.

2. Qualifications and year of study.

3. Research topic and study leader.

4. Your motivation for requiring support.

5. Study leaders motivation for requesting support.  The LOC will contact the study leader.
